About Us

Living On Purpose is the Bay Area hub of Changing Faces Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been serving children, families, and individuals in crisis since 1998 by improving the lives of thousands of at-risk and BIPOC youth across California. Co-Founded by Tiffany “Tip” Hayes, Mariah Cooks, and Sheri Macdonald, Living on Purpose was born from their shared belief that leadership is service in motion.

Founders

Mariah Cooks

Mariah Cooks is the CEO and Co-Founder of Living On Purpose. A San Francisco–based attorney, former NCAA and professional athlete, and community advocate, Mariah’s work sits at the intersection of justice, housing stability, and economic mobility.

Raised in the work, Mariah grew up inside the legacy of Changing Faces Inc.—founded by Mariah’s parents when Mariah was five—and witnessed firsthand how trauma-informed care can change outcomes for young people navigating foster care, probation, and crisis. That experience also revealed the gap that too often follows: youth leaving structured support and returning to instability, homelessness, substance use, or disconnection from school and opportunity.

Living On Purpose was created to close that gap. Mariah leads programs that equip youth and athletes with what should never be optional: stable foundations, trusted mentorship, financial competency, and clear pathways to education and employment.

For Mariah, living on purpose is a daily discipline of alignment and service. If you have breath, you have purpose—and with the right support, purpose becomes a plan that breaks cycles and builds generational change.

Tiffany Hayes

Tiffany “Tip” Hayes is a 2X WNBA All-Star, NCAA champion, and veteran guard known for relentless effort, disciplined defense, and showing up in big moments. Off the court, Tiffany is passionate about financial literacy and empowerment because knowledge creates opportunity.

Through Living On Purpose, Tiffany helps expand upward mobility and close the wealth gap by connecting underserved youth and athletes to practical tools, mentorship, and real pathways.

Tiffany is also the founder of Seyah 1963, a clothing brand rooted in creativity and self-expression—because purpose is not only what we do, it’s how we grow, create, and lead.

Everything Tiffany builds is grounded in a commitment to community: using what she’s earned to open doors, invest back, and leave people and places stronger than she found them.
