Youth of Purpose

Youth of Purpose exists to overcome the barriers that too often cause young people to fall through the cracks during this transition, including:

• Housing instability and risk of homelessness: Young people exiting foster care, residential placement, or unstable family systems often lack a safe place to land.

• Limited access to trusted, consistent mentorship: Many young people do not have reliable adults or networks to support goal-setting, accountability, and decision-making.

• Gaps in financial literacy and economic readiness: Youth frequently leave systems without practical tools for budgeting, credit, banking, saving, and long-term planning.

• Barriers to education and employment pathways: Without guidance, transportation, skills training, and support, school and job opportunities can feel out of reach.

• Limited exposure to STEM pathways and tech careers: Many youth lack access to hands-on STEM learning, digital skills, and clear on-ramps to high-growth fields.

• Unaddressed trauma and mental health needs: Youth may carry complex trauma without consistent access to culturally responsive, trauma-informed support.
