Athletes of Purpose

Athletes of Purpose is Living On Purpose’s career transition and leadership development program for current and former athletes who are ready to build what comes next—on and off the court, field, or track. Grounded in our belief that if you have breath, you have purpose, we help athletes turn discipline, resilience, and influence into purpose-driven careers, sustainable wealth, and lasting community impact.

The problems we’re addressing

Athletes of Purpose exists to overcome the gaps that too often show up during and after an athlete’s playing career, including:

  • Lack of structured transition support: Many athletes leave the game without a clear roadmap for career, identity, and life after sport.

  • Financial vulnerability and limited wealth-building education: Athletes may earn significant income but still lack practical training in budgeting, credit, investing, taxes, and long-term planning.

  • Limited access to career pathways and networks: Athletes can face barriers to internships, employment opportunities, and mentorship outside of sports.

  • Unclear access to capital and business infrastructure: Athletes with entrepreneurial goals often need guidance, trusted partners, and resources to launch and sustain ventures.

  • Desire to give back without a clear vehicle: Many athletes want to create meaningful community impact but need structure, alignment, and accountability to do it effectively.

Our approach

Through our programming, athletes receive practical training in financial literacy and wealth-building, including real estate education, long-term planning, and values-aligned decision making. We also provide career readiness support such as personal branding, resume and interview preparation, and networking, alongside access to mission-aligned partners who can open doors to internships, job pathways, and capital resources.

As the Bay Area Hub of Changing Faces Inc., Athletes of Purpose connects athletes to meaningful opportunities to give back—especially through mentorship and investment that strengthens housing stability, education access, and economic mobility. The goal is simple: help athletes thrive after the game while building an ecosystem where communities thrive too.
